STONE HOUSE AT THE FOOT OF MT. HYMETTUS

The design of the residence seeks to integrate the building seamlessly into the landscape, as the plot is situated at the base of Mount Hymettus.

This integration is achieved through two primary design principles. Firstly, the building’s levels and roof pitch align with the natural contours of the land. Secondly, the use of local construction materials, particularly the stone used for the building’s envelope, is sourced from the broader Hymettus region, further connecting the structure to its environment.

Additionally, the building's placement, orientation, floor plan configuration, and the strategic arrangement of openings, pergolas, and outdoor covered spaces all contribute to optimal bioclimatic performance. These elements are designed to maximize energy efficiency and take full advantage of the exceptional views over the plain of Mesogheia.
