RESIDENCE WITH ATRIUM

The building concept is informed by a series of factors related to the shape and orientation of the plot, its views, and the design influences, particularly those derived from Mount Hymettus, with which the building seeks to engage in dialogue.

The elongated plot is oriented along the North-South axis. Given this orientation, the floor plan has been designed to optimize the southern exposure and sun path, ensuring effective sunlight penetration and supporting optimal bioclimatic performance. Additionally, the atrium, located at the center of the building's west side, provides natural light to the interior spaces while also offering an alternative outdoor living area.

Regarding the roof design, it is conceived as a functional space, serving as both a garden and a terrace. This is achieved through the creation of semi-shaded areas and planted parterres, reclaiming the natural land area previously occupied by the building.

The design approach combines clear geometric volumes with natural patterns, which have been inspired by the rock formations of Mount Hymettus and the interplay of rock and vegetation within these formations.
